Stortford Kickstart was formed in June 1994 by a group of unemployed people who wanted to help themselves get back to work.

The group was led by a number of newly retired professionals and was supported originally by The Methodist Church and the Rotary Club of Bishop’s Stortford.

In September 1998 it became a registered charity, under the name of The Kickstart Trust (Bishop’s Stortford) Ltd.

Since opening Stortford Kickstart has helped over 2,500 people who between them have made over 11,400 visits.
